So we approach the so long awaited Christmas ,and all the goodies that comes with it. I can assure you that I hate it all nowadays.
Christmas is known to be to most commercialized holiday in the "civilized" world, which means that people forget all common economical sense, (if there ever had any to begin with). Trying to out buy eachother with the most useless, tasteless and expensive gifts their narrow minds could ever think of. All in the good name of the spirit of giving. (Excuse me I have to gag).
People buy gifts which the receiver accepts with a smile as if they had chewed on shit, it happens, but knowing the giver spent x amount of money., We try to remember the good thought behind it...more evil it seems sometimes. ( Rushing towards bathroom, excuse me)
Now we come to the essence of this rant; The people you have to put up with during these unbearable hypocritical, moneyspending hellidays. For the record; Yes I do have money, and I am not tightassed. I just prefer to give things spontaneously when someone I care for really needs it. I don't need shit holidays made up by the hateful Christian church to do so. I am not left out having to be alone unless I have chosen to, Which I have.
I would either have to put up with my so called family, Let's not go into details here, too depressing, Let's just say that they feelings of utter dismay are mutual. They can't grasp the simplest of things, so I just leave them to their usual Lars Nore'n play scenes. The other alternative is to spend x mas with my fiancee's unbearably stupid and ignorant family: His mother: Thinks if you put ice on your head the brain freezes. His father: I am in total lack for words for that mans unintelligence...His brother: priest. Do I need to say more? Then there is a hoard of hags and other insignificants, to which I can't even in my worst nightmares identify with. All they can speak of is populist crap that makes me want to tear my ears off, Hey! I am not expecting Nobel prize winner topics.
They also seem to find me mysterious and intriguing since I prefer to stay silent rather than execute them verbally and make another social suicide ( I do consider my fiancee's feelings). So they have to ask the standard questions; what do you do for a living, have you gained/lost weight, are you pregnant...I have made my excuse for this years gathering.
I was told by his brother the priest that whether I liked it or not, I am part of their family, I don't think so. Blood is thicker than water, is a Christian and traditional crapsaying made up to force people that loathe eachother to accept anything just because they are family. I wonder if the wife beaten to death thought so, does her children? People who have been submitted to rape, incest and/or abuse from family members? I can go on and on ....But do I have to?
My conclusion is: I have found together with many other friends of mine that a family consists of the people you choose and who chooses you of their/your own free will. With no obligation, falsity or any other shit covering the true state of the relation. If some of those happen to be blood, well then perhaps they are the exception that makes the rule.
Personally I find the Pagan festivities to be more true, fun and sound than the mixing of Christian and heathen tradition, (which few are aware of) that increases the stupidity of already stupid people.
